Plans...

I'm done !!! My sewing/guest/playroom is ready! Sewing machine and patterns out of storage! I couldn't be more excited about it. During my organization I found the Schoolhouse Tunic Pattern  I bought last year. Such a great find!

Can't wait to make a tunic of a flannel fabric I have saved for years. Perfect for fall!!

I also bought this great pants pattern I saw at  A Fashionable Stitch post  and fell in love with it. Can't wait to get started in some good work pants!

Now I just need more time........

Feels like a lifetime...........

Last time I posted here it was more than a year ago. Since then many things have happened, some very exciting others not so much.
  • I started to sell jewelry. But that  didn’t work out the way I hoped it would.
  • My family came for Christmas!! We had a great Holiday Celebration, even Santa stopped by !! And  they experienced snow for the first time!!!

  • Lucas started going to daycare and I found a full time job.

  • We moved to a new home !!!(the best move in 7 years).
  • This past july Lucas turned 3 and mastered potty training.

  • In August we had an awesome family vacation in Wilmington,NC. It was a very relaxing and fun week at the beach, just Carlos , Lucas and I.

I miss my blog, all the fun sewing I used to do and staying home with Lucas.
I really don’t have a lot of time left but I’ll try to get back to the things I really enjoy doing. I know that little by little I’ll get to where I really want to be.

Promises I'm not keeping...

Sorry I didn't update my blog on Friday. I felt really bad that I promised pictures of my skirt and jewelry party and completely forgot to take pictures during the party ( I know it's really a bummer!). But I have a good excuse for not taking any pictures, I was so happy to see my friends!!! Monika ( I haven't seen her for more than 4 years), Carly (that looks amazing pregnant with her 2nd child), Jacie ( the Jewelry Lady), Cristiane and Carla (brazilian friends). We had a great time talking and enjoying Mojitos.

Pictures of the skirt will be here soon and I'm working on getting the pattern for that dream one shoulder dress.

Frock by Friday™: The Anda Frock

A new Frock by Friday™: The Anda Frock just started yesterday. Great beginners project, very versatile pattern. I really wanted to follow this time but didn't have time to shop for fabric or download the pattern.
This week I'm hosting a Premier Jewelry Show at my house. I'm sure will be a great night with close friends.
I will also be wearing the skirt I made using Butterrick B5466 pattern.

I used a black light weight denim and I love the final product. Will post pictures of the Jewelry Show and new skirt back here on friday.

Long time no see....

Wow, it has been a long time since my last post. Not a lot going on with my sewing life but I have been really busy with Lucas and friends.
A lot of pool time and play time!! For Lucas that is!!

His new lawn mower!! He is so funny, wants to mow everything besides grass!!!

Enjoyed a afternoon at Short Pump Children's Museum with Papi! Lucas loves the train so much that he already recognizes the place from miles away!!

Enjoyed some cupcakes at the Pool Picnic!!

Funny hairdo after playing outside in a 104 F weather.

The Biggest Day of all, July 5th

I left my sewing behind this past weekend to enjoy time with Carlos and my Birthday little guy Lucas who just turned two this past Monday July 5th. He is growing so fast!! I can't believe my little man is getting so big, smart, funny and independent. Sunday we gave him his gift, a red Radio Flyer wagon, he loved it!!! So we went for a walk in our old neighborhood.

He really enjoyed reading a flier I got from a for sale home. Very cute and funny!!!!!
On Monday we had a quiet celebration at Abuelita's house with family. The cake ( made by me)  looked messy but it was delicious. Ice cream and fruits on an angel food cake with vanilla frosting!!

To put an end on the weekend celebration, Lucas opened the gift my parents sent from Brazil. He just LOVED IT!!! The little bug is a copy of my brother's Dede's car that Lucas loved it when we were in Brazil.

Great weekend!! Love my little family !!!

The Tara Pattern

I did it!!!
Unfortunately I didn't have enough fabric to go along with Frock by Friday version of the Tara Pattern, so I did the blouse to try some new ways to improve my sewing skills. And it worked out AMAZING!!! I LOVE IT!!!

Here it is...

Unfortunately my camera can't show the cute print fabric, but you have an idea.
I'll post more pictures soon, it fits great, you will see!!
That's it for now on my sewing life, the World Cup in getting in it's final stage and I can't stop watching it.
I'm coming up soon with some wristlet bag and a travel jewelry roll.

All Good Things...

My tutorial was put on hold until today. I know I should have finished last Wednesday but lots of things are going on.
World Cup is taking a lot of my time. I love the games and watching Brazil play is always fun and nostalgic. It is not the same thing to watch the World Cup here, I miss Brazil a lot on these days....

But we are having fun!!!

I'm also working on some pouches for my sister in law. My first  order !!!! I also made Yellow Girassol labels for my creations. Things are getting into place!
A lot of plans, a lot of work to do...
